Saturday Night Fever?

Saturday nights are so different now that I have a family, compared to my single days.  It's 7:30 PM, and I am already thinking about my comfy PJs, whereas 10 years ago, I would just be beginning to figure out what I was gonna do with my evening.  I have already bathed all 4 boys, the baby is down for the night, and the elders are about to have their bedtime story, and I can't wait to be able to read my bedtime story.  It probably doesn't help that I am expecting "Number 5".  I seem to be wandering the Earth in a constant state of exhaustion.  So, in pictures, this is what the rest of my evening will look like:

St. Rita of Cascia: Saint of the Impossible
She is seriously AMAZING!!

Long Sleeve Scoop Neck Shelf Bra Maternity Pajama Set
Comfy PJs
Indulge Soothing Eye Gel for that home spa feeling

I WISH!!!!

So how about you?  How do you spend your Saturday nights?

Friday Finds

OK.  I know I haven't posted in FOREVER, but life with ALL XYs gets a little hectic sometimes.  For instance, my fun-loving, energetic little Brogan has decided that the toddler program just isn't for him, which has put a bit of a wrench in my schedule.  However, I promise to have a renewed commitment to you, my faithful readers!

I am loving Fall!  It always makes me want to improve my home, since we spend so much more time inside.  I have to share with you my DIY project from this week that includes my "Friday Find".  If you are the mother of small children, may I suggest OILCLOTHIt is absolutely kid-proof (unless, of course, they go after it with the cutlery)!  You can wipe off the spills, and it looks as good as new!  I used it to recover my dining chairs.  They went from looking like this:

And this:

To this:

I used this site for purchasing the oilcloth, and it has a great selection and THE BEST price.  Tell me what ya think!

Stay tuned next week for a FUN, FASHIONABLE giveaway!

Creatively Challenged

When asked to describe me, I am absolutely sure that the last word to come to a person's mind would be "creative".  Friendly, hard-working, loyal, maybe, but creative?  Not so much.  Well, as luck would have it, I have a business function in Wisconsin this weekend at the beautiful Lake Lawn Resort, and I am part of the decorating committee.  HA!  Love that one.  They obviously went with our strengths when they chose the committees!  And, not only was I chosen to be on the decorating committee, I was also chosen to be the one to make the main decoration for the podium - a GIANT pink and black light switch - on a $20 budget!  I started with these supplies:
Pink Foam Board, Dowel Rod, Black Acrylic Paint, Styrofoam block, and Silver Glitter Glue (one boy hand not part of project)

And, drum roll please, the finished product:

Voila!

I am actually pretty pleased with myself, but now I am wondering... Did I just secure my position on the Decorating Committee for next year?  YIKES!

Have a great day!

A day in the life...

It's Sunday!  Usually my favorite day, but this one was filled with busy-ness.  Going to Mass is always an adventure with four boys, and today proved to be just as exciting!  My hubby has an injured foot that keeps him from being able to chase the children, so I had the "privilege" of taking Brogan  to the "bafroom" 5 times in an hour.  Now, mind you, he only had to go one time, but the other four times, it was "critical" that he "wash hands".  Meanwhile, Ewan (9mos) decides to exercise his vocal abilities and will not be still for my father-in-law, which then turned it into nothing but a juggling match.

In any case, we made it through, had a delightful brunch with friends that we hadn't seen in a while, and then I did two makeovers on some very special ladies :)  Love that!

When I returned, I found a child only wearing his underwear and one with missing school shoes.  In short, I believe this picture says it all!

Stick a fork in me!  I'm done!

Don't you love my new shoes, though?  Get them at Tar-Get!

More tomorrow!

What?!?!?!?

SOOOOO, my hubby cannot believe that I have started a blog, and to tell you the truth, I can't believe it either.  We were sitting in bed reading the other night, like the old couple that we are, when I mentioned how I was experiencing a bad case of blog envy due to my friends at "A Tale of Two Sisters".  If you want to have good laugh, you've got to check them out!  In any case, I said to Matthew, "I don't think I would have anything funny to say", and he says, "you so would", and then my friend Charlie over at ATOTS decides to mention that maybe I should start a blog, so here we are.

Let me just say that you are in for a treat!   I am the mother of 4 (YES, FOUR) boys, 7 years and under, so life can get pretty interesting! For instance, today we are hanging out with the neighbors, having a couple of adult beverages, when I look over only to see Brogan peeing on the neighbors' flowers!  I mean, seriously, could he just let me enjoy my glass of wine?  But seriously, they are the most AMAZING people on the planet, and I look  forward to sharing about them:)
